All of our fans will be asked to switch to the new format by March 30, 2012. Do not be intimidated by the switch to the timeline! The best thing to do now is prepare for the update and utilize Facebook Timeline for your real estate business.
Cover Photo: Right off the bat, this is the biggest change that comes with our timeline, and photos will also be the first thing your fans see when they land on your page. Photo on the cover of a much larger and will have a greater impact than just your own profile picture. This is a great space to show off and add a bit of creativity to express your real estate business. Some ideas to incorporate this space into the real estate marketing plan may include:
Ad "feature list"
Promotions,
special events or exclusive offers
Photo collage, or
sell your home or
your clients have been working with
Your office staff and members of your team
Photos of the entire real estate market
Note, the cover image size is 850 × 315 pixels. This is a good idea to design or choose your cover photo first so that will be launched at the official fan page timeline for the change over.
Stress Posts: Keep the important news of the most visible by clipping the post to the top of the timeline. Your post will stay at the top of the page you are up to 7 days. Page admins can also "highlight" any story, which will extend the full width of the post to your Facebook Timeline, giving you more exposure to the story. Tip: "highlight" or "pin up" an ongoing contest of social media, real estate marketing brochures, or posting information that leads to a special event.
Add History: Users like to see the effort to add a personal touch to their Facebook page. By adding milestones, the fans will give you insight into your real estate business, and show growth over time. Mark milestones or significant events that occurred prior to Facebook itself, as you start up company, new locations, awards, when you add new staff, a new brand or product release, etc. It is better to have your picture milestone, so your fans can take a trip back in time to start real estate business with you.
